Privacy Notice

Last reviewed: 12 October 2026
1. Who handles your information?
The operator of Kriges Heritage Pub is responsible for personal information processed in connection with this website and enquiries. The pub’s premises are at 36 Old Oak Rd, Ridgeworth, Cape Town, 7530. For privacy enquiries, email info@kriges.co.za and include “Privacy / POPIA” in the subject line.
2. What information may be collected?
When you email us, we may receive the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, telephone number, proposed booking date and time, party size, and details needed to respond to your request. Our email provider may also process technical information associated with sending and receiving messages. Please do not send identity numbers, payment-card details or sensitive personal information unless we specifically request it through an appropriate channel.
3. Why do we use it?
We use enquiry information to respond to messages, consider and administer booking requests, communicate with guests, keep appropriate business records and meet legal obligations. We do not use booking enquiries as permission to send unrelated marketing. If we introduce a marketing mailing list, we will provide the appropriate notice and choices.
4. Is providing information required?
You choose what to include in an email. If you do not provide enough contact or booking information, we may not be able to respond to or arrange the booking. We process personal information only where a lawful basis applies, and we will seek consent where the law requires it.
5. Who may receive it?
Access is limited to team members who need the information to handle your enquiry and service providers who support our email, information-technology and business operations. Information may also be disclosed where required or authorised by law. We do not sell customer personal information.
6. Service providers and external links
This website loads fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser requests those fonts, Google may receive technical information such as your IP address and browser request details. Links to Facebook and Google Maps take you to services operated by those providers; their own privacy terms apply when you use them. We do not control those third-party services. Where personal information is transferred outside South Africa, the responsible party must ensure that the transfer meets the requirements of POPIA.
7. Cookies and analytics
The current static website does not intentionally use advertising cookies or analytics trackers. Third-party services you visit through external links may use their own cookies or similar technologies. If analytics, embedded social media, online booking tools or other tracking features are added later, this notice should be reviewed and any required consent or notice implemented.
8. How long is information kept?
We keep enquiry information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to manage any resulting booking, to maintain appropriate records and to meet applicable legal requirements. The appropriate retention period depends on the type of record and the circumstances.
9. How do we protect it?
The responsible party should maintain reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to prevent loss, unauthorised access, misuse, alteration or disclosure of personal information. Email is not a suitable channel for sending payment-card details or unnecessary sensitive information.
10. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask whether we hold personal information about you, request access to it, ask for correction or deletion, or object to certain processing. Requests can be sent to info@kriges.co.za. We may need to verify your identity and may be required to retain certain records by law.
You may also contact the South African Information Regulator via inforegulator.org.za for information about your rights or to lodge a complaint.
11. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice when our practices or legal requirements change. The current version will be published on this website.
